Tyler turns two with a splash

We had a little pool party to celebrate Tyler's second year of life this week. Some of our sweet friends and our Bebe and Papa were their to join in the festivities. Liv worked very hard all day planning, wrapping, assembling gift bags, and designing and baking the 'cup-cookie cakes' (Olivia's title for her culinary creation)with her Bebe. Tyler had such a big time and loved all his happys. I cannot belive my little man is two!

not feelin' so good

Tyler has been a bit under the weather for the past two days-which I hate. It has, however, caused him to be super cuddly and puppy-dogged eyed-which I love.

our little soccer playin' girl

This spring Liv played on her first soccer team - "The Blue Dolphins". Even though we were 0-8 (or something like that) they were absolutely the #1 gold metal winners in the 'cutest team' category.

flying with little noah

Tyler loves to play in his room with his cars, trucks, and planes. He especially loves to put his little Fisher Price people into the cars, trucks, and planes and then launch them into the air. He is an equal opportunity launcher, not descriminating on race, gender, or age. He even launches the guy he calls "little noah" (as in Noah's Arc).

a morning at the park

The weather this week has been so yummy. 80-85 degrees and overcast. We have not wanted to come inside! So, we took advantage of this and spent Monday morning at a local park we love.

Tyler's newfound talent

Tyler has recently taken up hiding. His spot o' choice has been behind the curtains in our dining room. He does not tell you that he is going to hide, he just goes, gets into his spot, and remains freakishly quiet. (Irronically, that is what sends up the red flag for me to go look for him.) Monday morning he found a new spot and I happened to have my camera nearby. Olivia discovered him and much tickling and giggling insued.

choices, choices

Tonight as I was laying in bed with Olivia, getting ready to read her night-time book, I was running my fingers through her hair (we had washed it and it was still wet-tangles are our morning enemy). I mentioned that it was time for us to have a trim. Olivia then asked if we would be giving her trimmed hair to someone who needed it. I assumed that she had heard about 'locks of love' and that was what she was referring to. This led us to talk a little about why some kids might need to have a wig made for them. I explained that some people become sick and the special medicine they take could make their hair fall out, so they might wear a wig. Olivia then looked up at me with a concerned look and asked , "Is that what happened to Uncle Will?" "No, sweetie," I replied "Uncle Will did that to himself by choice."
